Triz the season
By Winning Post, February 11, 2024 - 7:46 AM

This week's Winning Post is now available online AEDT here.

Another Saturday, another Group 1, and this week the major action switches to Flemington for the Black Caviar Lightning.

Star Kiwi mare Imperatriz resumes in the Lightning looking to extend her winning streak to six (including five Group 1s), and she's been a red-hot Lightning favourite since all-in markets opened.

Elsewhere on the Flemington card, the Australian Guineas-bound three-year-olds battle it out in the C.S. Hayes Stakes for males and The Vanity for fillies. Over the same 1400-metre trip, the older horses battle it out in the Elsm Handicap (open) and Frances Tressady (fillies and mares). The two-year-olds get a last shot at Blue Diamond qualification in the Talindert Stakes.

Meanwhile at Randwick there's four group races on offer: The Expressway (open), Light Fingers (three-year-old fillies) and Triscay (mares) are over 1200 metres, while some of the top weight-for-agers will be back in the Apollo (1400m).

Out west it's Magic Millions Day at Pinjarra.

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with a full guide to The Valley plus fields/colours/tips/overviews for all the other TAB action.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Flemington in Melbourne, Randwick in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide, Eagle Farm in Brisbane and Pinjarra in WA.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Bendigo (Vic/SA edition), Newcastle (NSW edition) and Gold Coast (Qld edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for three more TAB meetings (plus Hobart in the Tassie edition) as well as fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for four Victorian training tracks, three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while further back in the book Shane Templeton reminisces, Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport, Tony Kneebone brings you his Snippets column and Number Cruncher delivers the stats that matter.
