Wish casting
By Winning Post, March 31, 2024 - 7:25 AM

This week's Winning Post will be available online from 3pm Thursday AEDT here.

A feast of top-quality racing action kicks off at Randwick this Saturday with day one of The Championships.

Perhaps the headline act is the T.J. Smith Stakes, where I Wish I Win will be out to remind Australia's top sprinters that he's still around.

Our best three-year-old stayers clash in the Australian Derby, while the Doncaster looks a cracking edition of Australia's greatest handicap mile and the top two-year-olds stretch out to 1400 metres in the ATC Sires' Produce.

Further south, it's a delayed Easter Cup day at Caulfield. There's also plenty of black type in Perth (Roma Cup, Old Comrade, Gimcrack, Perth Stakes).

Our form coverage kicks off on Friday with a full form guide for the Cranbourne night meeting, plus fields, colours, previews and tips for a stack more Friday meetings.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Caulfield in Melbourne, Randwick in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide, Eagle Farm in Brisbane and Ascot in Perth.

Winning Post carries full-colour liftout guides for all those meetings plus Avoca (Vic/SA edition), Hawkesbury (NSW edition) and Gold Coast (Qld edition), as well as fields, tips, ratings and/or colours for other TAB Saturday cards.

On Sunday we've got liftout formguides for three more TAB meetings (plus Hobart in the Tassie edition), as well as fields, ratings, tips and colours for a stack more Sunday and Monday programs.

Don't forget Winning Post now carries trackwork reports for four Victorian training tracks, three in Sydney, Morphettville in Adelaide and a general Brisbane report.

Away from the form, we've got news columns from NSW, six Victorian districts, SA and Tasmania.

Our readers have their say on page 4, while further back in the book Shane Templeton reminisces, Paul Richards presents his unique take on the sport, Tony Kneebone brings you his Snippets column and Number Cruncher delivers the stats that matter.

Winning Post costs $6.00 and is available Thursday afternoon online ($5), the crack of dawn Friday in shops.
