SA: Starlite, Sinner get ton up for Tootell
By Peter Neall, November 24, 2025 - 8:32 PM

Apprentice Caitlin Tootell lit up a rainswept Morphettville last Saturday, riding a double in the last two races to notch the 100th winner of her career.
Tootell landed her 99th winner as a result of an on-course pick-up ride when Starlite Valley ($41) won the benchmark 68 final of the Viddora Series for fillies and mares over 1200 metres.
A $600 purchase trained at Strathalbyn by Kym Healy, Starlite Valley came from better than midfield to score under Tootell, who picked up the ride when fellow apprentice Brooke King became indisposed.
Tootell finished her day with a win on $4.60 favourite Ginger Sinner in the benchmark 68 final of the Riziz Series for the males over the same trip.
A last-start Morphettville Parks winner, the Paula Trenwith-trained gelding sat one off the pace before fighting on for the narrowest of wins, Tootell’s 100th, coming at her 1039th ride since debuting at Murray Bridge on Australia Day 2023.
A couple for Campbell
Campbell Rawiller shared the honours with Tootell, bringing up the first leg of a double when Oxford Blue ($2.80 favourite) won the benchmark 70 Country Mile final (1600m).
Trained at Murray Bridge by Stephen Theodore, Oxford Blue led all the way.
Rawiller landed the second leg of a race-to-race double when six-year-old mare Vexatious Dancer ($6.50) won the benchmark 70 final of the Country Sprint Series over 1200 metres.
The Nicole Irwin-trained Vexatious Dancer came from a rearward position with a strong run over the concluding stages.
Storm home
Murray Bridge trainer David Aldridge was all smiles after Chicago Storm ($12) took the 1200-metre final of the Gytrash Series with apprentice Rochelle Milnes aboard.
Chicago Storm, a winner of 11 races from 32 starts, may now contest the Gold Bullion at Pakenham on December 13 and/or the listed Christmas Handicap over 1200 metres back at Morphettville on December 27.
Partners prevail at Port
Two training partnerships and jockey Teagan Voorham were the standout performers at Port Lincoln last Friday with a double apiece.
Oakbank-based John Dunn and Krystal Bishop brought up the first leg of their popular double when Rochelle Milnes guided Another Bride ($2.50 favourite) to victory in a Class 1 handicap of 1000 metres. Alysha Warren later took a 1000-metre maiden for them on Skating On By ($3.50 favourite).
The Gawler-based stable of Gary and Nichole Searle and Brianna Callanan teamed with Voorham for both their winners — Indiamo ($2.80 favourite) in a 1350-metre maiden and Zestiman ($7.50) in a benchmark 80 over the same trip.

The Searles, Callanan and Voorham teamed up for another double at Gawler on Wednesday with Fiora Blue ($4.40) in a 2100-metre maiden and Kiss And Kaboom ($3.50) in a 1200-metre maiden.
Matthew Seyers took the next two races with Make Me A Star ($9.50) in a 1500-metre maiden and Dunreal ($1.40 favourite) in a 1500-metre Class 1. Alysha Warren and Kayla Crowther were the winning riders.
Crowther completed a double of her own when the Wayne Francis and Glen Kent-trained Zarkana ($2.60 favourite) won a 1200-metre benchmark 68.
Bolt By bags Clare Cup
Murray Bridge trainer Judy Streets was the toast of Clare last Sunday after apprentice Alana Livesey steered her veteran gelding Bolt By ($6) from midfield on the home turn to win the Clare Valley Cup (1800m).
It was the eighth win from 45 starts for the eight-year-old son of Night Of Thunder.
Murray Bridge trainer Justin Pickering and apprentice Margaret Collett provided the bookend winners at Clare — Dora Aurora ($4.80) in an 1100-metre maiden and Chillcuz ($10) in 0-58 company over the same trip.
