Rochelle Milnes showed the way with a running double as women rode seven of the nine winners at Gawler last Saturday.
Milnes kicked off on Arabella Star ($4.80), who powered home from midfield to win a Class 1 over 1107 metres for Victorian trainers Tony and Calvin McEvoy.
Milnes won again on Percidian ($14), who made a wide run from the back to win a 1207-metre 0-62 handicap for Morphettville trainer Mark Lewis. 
Earlier, Teagan Voorham struck when Blanc Visage ($12) took out a Class 2 over 1107 metres, carrying the Port Adelaide colours for Morphettville-based Peter and Belinda Blanch.
A $26,000 purchase at the 2022 Adelaide Magic Millions yearling sale, Blanc Visage ran on strongly from last to take her earnings to $133,765.  
The win was a pick-me-up for Belinda Blanch, who’s recovering from an injury she sustained at the previous Gawler meeting in December. 
Apprentice Alana Livesey was next to step up to the plate when Tapinforpar ($21) came from midfield to win the benchmark 78 over 1207 metres for Livesey’s co-masters, Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle. 
Caitlin Jones came from one off the pace to win a 1207-metre maiden plate on Act Natural ($2.05) for the Morphettville stable of Phil Stokes.
The Royal Meeting gelding took 13 starts to break his maiden status, having been placed in each of those first 12 starts. 
Later, apprentice Alysha Warren guided last-start winner Conni Island ($5.50) from one off the pace to win a benchmark 68 handicap over 1507 metres for Murray Bridge trainer Heather Lehmann. 
Finally, apprentice Taylor Johnstone steered Mrs Penny Cracker ($5) from midfield to win the 0-62 handicap over 1707 metres for the Gawler stable of Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor. 
Mrs Penny Cracker was one of two winners prepared locally, the other being Truly Elsa ($13), ridden by premiership leader Jason Holder for Darren and Aimee Magro in 0-62 company over 1207 metres.
