The girls dominated at Port Lincoln last Friday, riding six of the eight winners.
One of them was for local trainer Brent Hull, who prepares Toorak Blaze. The horse was ridden to victory over 1750 metres by Kayla Crowther.
Caitlin Tootell got off to a flying start with the first two winners on the card, her first being Grecian Storm, prepared by Mick White, over 1350 metres. Tootell’s second winner came on the Rocky King-trained Game Over.
Rochelle Milnes also nabbed a “pair”, firstly over 100 metres aboard Strawberry Swing, trained by Jackie Stoetzer, then a 1200m sprint on the John Dunn and Krystal Bishop-trained 10-year-old Messerschmitt.
Dunn and Bishop also prepared Belmont Avenue to win the last ace on the card, with Brooke King riding.
A couple of trainers — Mick White and Jackie Stoetzer — also landed doubles.

On Sunday Mount Gambier Racing Club hosted the third heat of the Limestone Cup series and it was taken out by Aaron Purcell’s Van Roy, ridden by Tom Madden. Madden also won the previous race, a benchmark 64 handicap aboard Shooter Mcgavin, trained by Shane Jackson.
Earlier in the day jockey Ben Price won a 906-metre maiden on Gatsby Crown for Kelvin Bourke. Price also notched a winner for Patrick and Michelle Payne (Allinthetiming). The latter was Price’s 300th winner.

At Gawler on Wednesday the Andrew Gluyas-trained Bassett Babe stood out in her debut race (an 1100 metre maiden plate for three-year-olds), winning by more than six lengths with Taylor Johnstone aboard.
