Erica Byrne Burke continued her stellar season at Launceston last Friday night, notching five wins, two seconds and a third from her eight mounts.
Her first success came aboard the Adam Trinder-trained Ilovethistown who was able to cross from the outside alley and lead throughout in the Class 2 handicap over 1400 metres.
Trainer and jockey then made it a running double with Dubai Affair who also pressed forward from a wide gate and despite facing the breeze proved too strong for her rivals in the Class 1 handicap over 1200 metres.
It was the second successive win for the daughter of Pride Of Dubai and she’ll be out to complete the hat-trick at the same track this Friday night when she lines up in a Class 2 over the same trip.
Byrne Burke next combined with Cranbourne trainer Matthew Brown to guide his charge Quafftide to a comfortable victory after enjoying a nice trail just off the speed in the benchmark 60 handicap over 1600 metres.
The daughter of Divine Prophet has now won two of her past three outings locally and is also set to back up on Friday night.
The state’s leading hoop’s fourth win came via the John Blacker-prepared Sandual who finished off hard from midfield to take the benchmark 68 handicap over 1400 metres.
Byrne Burke again teamed with her former master Trinder to complete her quintet of wins with Lady Galadriel who took the benchmark 66 handicap over 1200 metres.
With shades applied the daughter of Needs Further was able to be ridden more forward before holding off the late surge of the fast-finishing Golden Meadow.
The meeting was dominated by female hoops with Codi Jordan notching her third successive Launceston double and apprentice Kirra-Lee Lane taking the only other event on the card.
