The veteran Chris Waller-trained mare Fangirl is among those poised to begin their spring campaign in the 1400-metre weight-for-age showpiece at Randwick on Saturday.

The Silver Shadow, Toy Show, Show County and Premier's Cup are the support acts at Randwick, while the Carlyon Stakes is the feature at The Valley's meeting at Sandown.

At Morphettville it's Leon Macdonald Stakes day.

The metro racing this Saturday is at Sandown in Melbourne, Randwick in Sydney, Morphettville in SA, Doomben in Brisbane and Belmont in Perth.
