Consistent gelding The Quiet Immortal made it two wins from his past three starts for Wangaratta trainer Ben Brisbourne with victory in benchmark 56 company over 1600 metres at Echuca last Sunday.
Punters were spot on in sending the horse out the $2.80 favourite, after The Quiet Immortal had finished in the first three at his previous six starts, including a win two starts back at Wodonga on July 26.  The horse was backing up at Echuca after finishing third at Wangaratta the Sunday before.  
Jumping into a handy position, jockey Lachie King settled The Quiet Immortal just behind the pace off the rails before running down front-runner Isalot, who faded to finish fourth while Catalona made good ground to finish second.  
The Quiet Immortal was a $20,000 purchase by Brisbourne at the 2024 Inglis Premier yearling sale. He’s had 12 starts for two wins, three seconds, three thirds, three fourths and a fifth.
With earnings of $69,620 he has well and truly paid his way.

Wangaratta trainer Andrew Dale will be hoping spring brings a change of luck after his winter ended in frustrating fashion with five successive second placings.  
Dale had King Incanto finish second at Wangaratta on August 23, followed by Madame Adelaide and Brenlyn’s Legacy at Bendigo on August 26, then Snitzel Tycoon and Eamonn’s Memory at Wagga the following day.
