Hopefully, now that we’ve had a change in government in both Victoria and New South Wales in recent months, we can again attempt to gain a joint pool.

The only hold-up to it previously was the NSW racing minister saying he could see no positive for NSW — how about bigger pools? Stability of dividends? A hopeful end to the ridiculous situation where Victorian horses running in NSW are points under the odds (on the Victorian tote) and vice versa?

As for the anti-competition nonsense it’s not like I can walk down Bourke Street in Melbourne and decide I want to walk into a Tab Ltd venue! Let’s hope common sense can prevail.
