Credit where credit is due. I visited Murtoa for its cup meeting on Saturday October 3 and was most impressed with how professionally the meeting was conducted.
Everything went smoothly, from the running of the meeting to catering, fashions on the field and children’s entertainment.
The committee and their families were hands-on all day, be it serving at the food stalls or pulling a beer at the bar. Country racing at grass-roots level.
The track was in good order and it surprises me that the course is not used more regularly, especially considering it has one of the best wet-weather surfaces in Victoria.
And Dean Yendall was a great help to the hip pocket!
