The working man of the past (plus punters like Pitt and Splinter Roberts) would be all over the shorts, putting their faith in the champs of the day instead of the stock market.
How many of these (non-punting) fans will return? $25 entry, $6 for the racebook, $8 for a can of beer … it makes the local Tabaret with Crownies for $5 look attractive.
