Does anyone recall a push for a weekly lay day from racing in Victoria by RVL supremo Rob Hines?
The call was endorsed by all in the industry save for the big commercial breeders — who decried the lost opportunities for lesser-light jockeys.
Difficult or impossible as it is to find detailed race results in the heavily subsidised Herald Sun, I have not found a single instance of a major stud operation putting on any jockey who is not regarded as a leading light.
