Recently most of the Rising Star series in Victoria have been dominated by apprentices who can’t claim, denying the eligible claiming apprentices of race rides and experience.

I believe that Racing Victoria should adjust the conditions of the series so that claiming apprentices only are eligible, as non-claimers have already proved their prowess.

Owners and trainers could assist apprentice development by engaging claiming apprentices.
