Blame game
Not a truer word has been written than Richard Callander’s piece (8/12) "Scapegoating 101".
At Caulfield on December 1 after Luke Nolen won on Lampedusa he was asked the reason for the failure of the favourite, Our Celladoor, in the previous. He stated that his ride was okay and there must be something wrong with the horse.
I then noted in the stewards’ report that Mr Nolen had been reprimanded for shifting in on at least two other horses. No mention of anything wrong with the horse. Those of us who backed OCD didn’t think it was a good ride at all.
