I congratulate the SAJC in staging/naming the listed Group 3 David R. Coles AM Spring Stakes last Saturday. David Coles, a legend in the Australian thoroughbred industry, was an industry leader and had been at the forefront in many developments over the years.
He also had a well credentialled international reputation and was well known and highly respected, especially in Asian and European circles.
He was an excellent mentor to many and an inspiration to those who had the good fortune to know him. They know who they are.
I hope this race can maintain its rating for many years to come.
