Super Street
I enjoy your paper, especially the attention to many minor race meetings around the country.
However, although you reviewed briefly the recent Mt Wycheproof meeting, pointing out that two Bendigo trainers were successful, I was a little disappointed that no mention was made of the feature race, the Wycheproof Cup, where a little nine-year-old called Emmooki Street won the event by the narrow margin of 17 lengths! (Against some reasonably well bred opposition horses.)
This is a tribute to the ability of trainer Mick Whittle (a man whose story is to be admired), who has had remarkable success with this horse and many other "castoffs".
The story is all the more remarkable given that a well respected vet had, in 2006, advised the then owners (including myself as the breeder) that this gutsy horse had only a limited racing life due to arthritis setting in.
Well done, Mick!
