That ain't peanuts

It is interesting to analyse the list of Australia’s leading jockey prizemoney earners even at this early stage of the season.

I believe jockeys are paid in the vicinity of $170 per ride, win or loss. Couple that with his five percent of prizemoney and Nash Rawiller earned on average $1000 per day for the first 17 days of the season.

Yes, he has expenses, but that is not a bad earn in the off season.

On another topic, I enjoyed TVN’s feature on new stallion Master of Design. Coincidentally his five-year-old brother made his debut the day the program aired, at Mackay on the Tuesday afternoon.

His name is Assimilator and he strolled in by seven lengths or so.
