Time for a change

Gai Waterhouse recently sparked a generational and class war by stating millennial Aussies won’t get off the dole and work for her at 3am.
I’m with the kids. If racing changed its archaic working hours, they’d be there.
It was last century (if not the one before) tthat rainers and jockeys needed day jobs too, so they had no choice but to work horses pre-dawn.
Now most are full-time professionals, many handsomely paid, so there’s no longer a need for ridiculously early starts.
Whether it’s just raceclub training establishments or city councils who still live in the past, for every horseperson’s sake, get with the times and change this.
