I agree with Kevin Arthurson (20/2). The naming of racehorses has certainly deteriorated since I worked in registration at the AJC in 1960.
Mr (Bob) Lilley would not have allowed Kissonallforcheeks. Also not allowed were brand and commercial names like Is Don Is Good and Carbone (who shares his name with a firm advertised on Racing.com) .
I suspect the checking these days is done by a computer. We would not have missed Simkin and Simpkin, who both raced in Victoria last Sunday.
