Good job
Just wanted to give a bouquet to Radio TAB’s Stephen Hewlitt. The information he provides through his interviews is first class.
The weekend of November 12 was a classic example.
Hewlitt told listeners that he thought unraced two-year-old Sizzling might be something special even though it had been thrashed in a barrier trial.
The horse won brilliantly — albeit at a short price, once word got out.
Andrew Williamson, the trainer of Ready to Rip, suggested 1000 metres might be a touch too short following a minor hiccup with his short-priced elect, so I backed the second pick and collected. Then Lawrie Mayfield-Smith came on and told an interesting story about his mare Rosagaze. His comments enticed me to have something on her.
Sure, Steve is like any interviewer-tipster — sometimes he’s right and sometimes he is wrong.
But he goes about his work in a professional manner and it’s about time someone told him so.
Well done, Stephen. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
I also love the banter on Saturdays with all of the guys — Andrew Kristy, Mark Oberhardt, David Fowler, Peter Ellis and so on.
