Referring to Steve Pateman’s idea to revive the time-honoured A.V. Hiskens Steeplechase and the iconic Moonee Valley Hurdle (3/6), I agree such a move would restore a very popular winter raceday at The Valley.
With the support of my many fellow club members who enjoy jumps racing, I implore all members of the jumps fraternity to lobby the committees of the Moonee Valley Racing Club and Racing Victoria to reinstate these races on the racing calendar for the forthcoming season.
With the now removable obstacles meeting the safety standards and able to be placed on the outside running rail, it would be a positive move to witness jumps at The Valley in the future.
It would be great to get a positive reply from the bodies mentioned..
