No complaints

After the recent Cox Plate, some peanut on Twitter described it as “Australia’s best race on Australia’s worst track”.
If the track’s so bad, why are there so rarely any complaints about the Cox Plate result?
The best horse on the day almost invariably wins, and in most years it takes an out-and-out champion to do so.
This year, in my opinion, the best horse won, the second-best horse ran second, the best mare ran third and the worst horse ran last. By which I mean Almalad, not Guest of Honour.
