Extraordinary support
When Louise Cooper, a 32-year-old mother of two young boys, fell from Escriva at Edenhope back on March 24, the result for her was paraplegia. The fact that so many sectors of the racing industry have rallied behind Louise, her husband Matt and her two young sons Jack and Sam is a testament to our extraordinary sport.
On Sunday November 4, the Kilmore Racing Club’s Jon Cameron, Glenyse Buckley and a supportive committee showed once again that this industry will not forget Louise Cooper.
The Cooper family and the Victorian Jockeys’ Association want to thank everyone at the Kilmore Racing Club who were involved in the race day in support of Louise.
Sadly, Louise was unable to attend due to ongoing health issues, but she has asked that her appreciation be conveyed to everyone involved, particularly Glenyse Buckley and the Psaltis family, who sponsored the race named in support of Louise.
To all the girls who rode in Louise’s race at Kilmore, thank you. To Nick and Gail Psaltis, to Victoria Shaw and to everyone at the races who were supportive, a massive thank you from the Cooper family and the Victorian Jockeys Association for your support of a very special young woman.
