Oh, O'Briens

What a terrific meeting Dubai World Cup night was. Even the no-race caused by the unfortunate loss of Fox Hunt was brilliantly handled by the "outriders", as they called them, stopping the race before a total disaster occurred.

Thought the whole night was very professional, as it should be I guess for the squillions involved.

Well done, Ortensia, another brilliant Williams ride, but quite the opposite on So You Think in the big one.

Just cannot believe how many times this champion horse has been slaughtered by various jockeys. Also can’t understand why some so-called experts thought he’d been given every chance.

Why would the jock continue pushing up when they’re on track-record pace? Those that saw the overhead vision saw the amazing sight round the back straight of young O’Brien continually railing inside the leader, squeezing and bumping with it for well over a furlong.

I thought the horse did remarkably well to slog on into fourth spot after such a buffeting.

The owners should remove the horse from the O’Brien stable — there’s any number of trainers that could do better — as well as find a decent jockey like Craig Williams or Steven Arnold.

Anyway, that’s my view of it all. Our champion horse has been dudded by the O’Briens.
