I would like to commend your journalist Joel Marshall for his interview with trainer Tony McEvoy (24/10).
It was pleasing to read an honest and unbiased assessment of a trainer’s horses chances in upcoming races, mentioning some problems he had with their previous form.
Tony was upfront and gave punters a heads-up on his charge Evangelist, whom he was confident he had ready for a first-up assault on the Sale Cup on the Sunday.
Evangelist won the cup following an excellent ride by jockey D. Stackhouse.
This small punter had a bet on it, at good odds, after reading what the trainer had to say about it in the article. Well done and congratulations Tony McEvoy.
