If you won't name, don't shame
I’m fed up with the innuendo that frequently appears in Richie Callander’s column. Too often, Richie starts an article like the one in the Winning Post of July 25: "Which apprentice is fast becoming a little too hard to handle for many trainers?" but then fails to answer the question for the reader.
Richie, the Winning Post is not a quiz show, nor is it a gossip magazine. Nor should it be used as a vehicle for you to "shame without naming".
I, like many, buy the WP so I can inform myself about key racing issues. It’s time you put up or shut up. Either start naming these people or don’t bother writing the article at all, as they tell me absolutely nothing. These rubbish articles you write are simply beneath what is otherwise a quality publication (including most of the other articles you write).
You often write that the racing industry is supported by the punter and would not exist without us. How about applying the same logic to your articles? The WP is nothing without its readers, so please treat us with a little more respect.
