My wife and I attended Coolmore Classic day at Rosehill Gardens and were deafened by the truly terrible music, played at many decibels above a normal level, which totally prevented any form of conversation and terrified the parading young horses.

At one stage there was a lull in the so-called music, which brought a concerted cheer from the members’ stand.

On another subject (cost savings), on leaving the course we noticed a wheelie bin full of the day’s racebooks. Perhaps if the Australian Turf Club reduced the price of the programs from $5 to $2, they would sell more and obviate this needless waste.
