Great to see Hugh Bowman’s foot fully in the iron on front page of Winning Post (19/8).
If he’d had only his toe in the iron when Winx scrambled out of the barrier last Saturday, his foot may have been knocked out of the iron.
Would be nice to hear his opinion on this.
I wonder how many trainers make their apprentices ride with the foot fully in the iron for their and their horses’ safety instead of this ridiculous trend that has come into racing of only the toe in the iron.
