Shean shines
I believe the best person to call races in Australia since John Tapp finished was Mark Shean. He was the number-one caller in Sydney until shafted and replaced by Racing NSW’s man from Hong Kong, Darren Flindell.
Terry Bailey is my second choice. Terry has a wealth of experience and would lift if given the “plum job” of replacing Greg Miles as chief Victorian caller.
There are many excellent callers in Australia, but for accuracy I would say Shean by a short head from Bailey, with Perth ace Darren McAullay flashing home for third.
Just behind Darren is his namesake Darren Flindell with an honorable mention to Adam Olszanski, who missed the start through no fault of his own, having been born many years after the esteemed list above!
