There has rarely been a better ride than the (winning) ride on The New Boy at Caulfield last Saturday.
The Danny O’Brien-trained steed was ridden by the highly promising two-kilo claiming apprentice Jordan Childs, son of the New Zealand-born former champion hoop Greg Childs.
Those responsible for the training of apprentice jockeys should make his ride mandatory viewing.
I salute Jordan for his professional performance.
