Future-proofing

An all-weather track in northern Victoria is a must.
“Too expensive!” is the cry from administrators.
The repercussions of transferring a meeting from, for example, Swan Hill to Pakenham are enormous for jockeys, trainers and let’s not forget owners or TAB turnover.
It will never be cheaper to install an all-weather track in the future.
Maybe we need an administrator like Mooney Valley had in Ian McEwen, who promoted his track at every opportunity.
As the late, great C.S. Hayes was fond of saying, the future belongs to those who plan for it.
