Smashing
At a race meeting recently where three bookies were fielding, the radio broadcaster said a particular horse has been "smashed" in the betting ring.
This is absolute nonsense. The bookies there wouldn’t bet you two zacs to one.
Then for last Saturday’s Eagle Farm meeting the "huge-betting" corporate bookies had not put up the fixed prices by the usual time. Why? Because TAB Sportsbet hadn’t put them up! They have hearts as big as split peas.
Please have respect for the person that keeps the game going!
