Think positive
Bouquets to Shane Templeton for his excellent tribute to Vo Rogue, one of our most exciting horses to race in modern times.
Bouquets too to Paul Richards for his interesting column (28/4) on Peter Pan and the book Jessica Owers has written about him. Also the article about Ajax. The information he gleans is amazing.
Now to Black Caviar. Much has been written about her, both positive and negative.
Facts are facts. She has now won 21 races straight, unbeaten, most of them Group 1 or 2 events. Remember, you can only beat the horses you run against. Granted she has beaten many lesser-grade horses but she has also beaten many good ones.
She has now won more straight than Gloaming, Desert Gold, Ajax, Carbine, Bernborough, Pkar Lap, Limerick, Tulloch and Kingston Town. Not a bad effort.
Her trainer, Peter Moody, is the consummate professional. The welfare of the horse is paramount and due to his acumen she has been placed to perfection, not over-raced for the almighty dollar. His perspective about her and his knowledge of what makes her tick is spot on.
Bart Sinclair wrote an excellent article on him in the Courier Mail (14/5). It says it all about the man.
So when she goes to England I’m sure she’ll acquit herself well, and I would be very surprised if she didn’t win.
She is a champion of her time. You can’t dispute facts.
So to all the naysayers, try some positive ideas for a change.
Go, Black Caviar. Go, Peter Moody.
